Back to the basics: Oklahoma Film Photographer

A few years ago, I purchased a HOLGA camera. You can find info on them everywhere on the web. Holga is a 120 film camera. They are very cheaply (is that a word?) made, but really fun and inspire me to think creatively.  So…. getting back to the point, I finally developed a few rolls that I’ve had- um, well, uh for a while. Here are a few shots:I love the overall look of film and it has this dreamy quality. Granted these are snapshots from a $30 camera, but none of that changes the fact that i will cherish these.

Fast forward to earlier this year and I saw on www.facebook.com/dbakerphotography that Jessica Dittmer (amazing artist and photographer) had a www.mamiya.com for sale. Mamiya is a medium format camera. So my curiosity was peaked and a made a little purchase. I can’t wait to bring this to a session with me and mix a little digital technology with film. Here are a few snaps of my family with it. The first is of my oldest lil’ man. He adores all things basketball and this picture couldn’t be more him if I had wanted it. The last two are of our middle monkey- and they so capture his crazy little personality.
